Try it in Mement
- Try capturing a real thought with as little setup as possible.
- Test an ordinary reminder, a repeat cue and returning after an interruption.
- Check the devices, accessibility options, privacy boundaries and paid features you actually need.
Use a short trial, not a diagnosis label
Try Mement’s manual workflow before enabling every AI or analytics feature. Check whether its hierarchy and spatial view clarify your work or add decisions. Compare the same few scenarios in any alternative you are considering. No single planner suits everyone with ADHD.
Know the boundaries before relying on them
Mement does not provide live shared assignments, automatic route optimization, clinical monitoring or guaranteed alarms until completion. AI generation needs supported hardware, language, settings and Pro; ordinary Search and free Ask have different requirements. Use the requirements and plans pages for current compatibility and pricing, rather than assuming all features work on every Apple device.
How it works in Mement
Choose app locking, item protection and notification privacy
Choose the protection for the information involved
App locking asks for authentication when reopening Mement according to the saved delay. The available biometric method depends on the device. Use it when you want the application itself protected between visits; choose a short delay if you need it to lock again soon after leaving.
Biometric Lock protects opening one record. You can use it for private planning while leaving other records convenient to reach. Because it is independent of a schedule, you do not have to add an artificial date to enable the lock.
Security notification hides details in the scheduled alert. For example, a private dated Task can have both item locking and a protected notification. Save the record, open it normally to check authentication, and inspect its alert when delivered. Notification delivery still depends on the system and permissions. This setting controls disclosure; priority and Time-sensitive notification are separate choices.
Protected records are excluded from Spotlight and supported system queries. They can therefore be absent from Ask Mement or some widget counts while remaining available through normal in-app access. Protected Session titles use a private label outside Mement. App locking alone and record-level protection have different purposes, so check the individual record if visibility outside the app matters.
Without a date or time, ordinary editors show “Biometric Lock” as a row. Adding a schedule turns its icon into a circle beside the notification options. Habit editors show all four circles in “Schedule” immediately, including without a custom time. Swipe horizontally across the circles to enable the options you touch; vertical scrolling leaves them unchanged. Hold for help. Tap “Repeat” to choose an interval or turn follow-up off. Lock · Time Sensitive · Private · Repeat.
Understand on-device processing and voluntary sharing
Ask Mement, List generation, text interpretation and Analytics narratives use their on-device paths. List generation uses the context supplied for that List; Ask reads matching local system-index records. Their availability depends on the relevant feature requirements and settings, rather than one universal AI requirement for every part of Mement.
Apple Health access is optional. Health-personalized Digital Twin state stays on the current device. Separate Digital Twin progress calculated without Health data can synchronize through private iCloud. These are distinct from your decision to export a Passport.
A Passport can contain the score, attributes, stage and achievements but does not include raw Health measurements. An Analytics PDF and a shared Task card have their own contents. Inspect the actual preview before choosing a destination in the share sheet, especially when a record contains private context. Sending a card or report is an intentional disclosure to its recipient.
Choose diagnostics and prepare useful support information
The optional analytics-sharing setting controls product diagnostics and crash reporting. You can change this choice in Privacy & Security without losing Mement functionality. It is separate from your personal Analytics tab, which helps you review Tasks, Habits and Sessions.
For support, start with the app and system versions and the steps that produced the problem. A description such as “open a Habit, start its timer, pause, then resume” can identify a flow without exposing personal titles. Include additional context only when it helps reproduce the issue.
If you send a screenshot, review Task text, locations, attachments and account details first. Hide information that is not needed for the question. The same review is useful for exported reports: a privacy setting inside Mement does not replace checking the particular file you choose to send.
Use Mement with assistive technology and a keyboard
Adjust the presentation to your needs
System text and motion settings are useful starting points. Larger text changes how information fits on screen; Reduced Motion changes nonessential movement. These settings do not change a Task’s date, a Habit’s goal, or the meaning of its recorded progress.
When using VoiceOver, listen to the control’s name, current value, and selected or expanded state. For a checklist, confirm which actions are checked. For GTD, read the named status. Color can help visually, but the text and announced state explain the choice.
If a chart, map, or spatial view makes a detail hard to reach, open the relevant record or its available actions. For example, the Task details give you a place to check a saved date without having to infer it from a colored marker.
Create records and navigate on Mac
Command-Shift-N creates a Task, Command-Shift-L a List, Command-Shift-P a Project, and Command-Shift-A an Area. These are separate starting points: choose the kind of record you want, fill its editor, and save it.
Command-K opens search. Command-/ opens Focus help. Command-Z runs the available recent undo action. Escape closes the current flow under its normal rules, including any prompt about unsaved work.
For example, press Command-Shift-P to begin “Prepare the presentation”, save the Project, then use search to return to it later. A command opens or performs its corresponding action; it does not skip the editor’s required choices.
Use Big View without spatial dragging
A Big View sphere exposes actions for entering a container, opening a Task, creating an appropriate record, combining records, or leaving a level. With VoiceOver, navigate to the sphere and inspect those actions rather than trying to pan precisely to its visual position.
On Apple TV, move the remote focus to a record and press Select to open it. Back or Menu moves up a level. Hold Select to show the contextual actions. The remote interaction is adapted to the television rather than copying the phone’s gestures.
If an action is missing or unreachable in your setup, report the record kind, current screen, system version, text size, and assistive technology. A description such as “VoiceOver reaches the Project but I cannot find its context action” is more useful than a general report that a screen is difficult.
A plan to adapt
Fictional example. Copying or downloading this text does not create records in Mement.
