Try it in Mement

  1. Save the Task with a valid mapped location and check its Space.
  2. Use Nearby to inspect located work. Choose and reorder stops yourself.
  3. Start supported navigation through Apple Maps, then explicitly complete the Task when the errand is done.

Choose an order, not an automatic optimum

Nearby supports a list, a map and an optional radius. The radius filters the list and Home count, not map stops; unknown distance remains visible. Mement previews your chosen order and Apple Maps owns navigation. An active trip can be resumed for up to 24 hours.

Location alerts need the system

Saved location reminders and trip arrival alerts have different setup. Trip arrival alerts follow successful Maps handoff, use 100-metre entry regions and share the app’s 20-region system budget. Permissions and platform support apply. Arrival does not complete work; Mac Catalyst and native visionOS do not schedule local location triggers.

How it works in Mement

Connect places, reminders, and a useful trip

Save the place you mean

For “Collect the parcel”, search for the collection point and select the correct result. Check the map position before saving. Typing “post office” alone is a search query, so choose a result or explicitly confirm a point in the map picker.

Tasks, Lists, Projects, and Areas can have location reminders. Nearby’s stops come specifically from active Tasks with confirmed coordinates. A completed or deleted Task leaves that planning view, and a selected Space can narrow which Tasks it includes.

Tasks, Lists, Projects, Areas and Habits support files, photos and links. In item editors, Attach becomes Attached with previews; removal sits beside each row. Location is below the materials, with a small map and an optional full-screen view. Open materials from the editor or the record’s details. In “Attach”, tap “Arrive” or “Leave” in the location reminder title to choose when to be notified. “Arrive” is selected by default. Save keeps that choice; notification and location permissions still apply.

Plan three errands in your preferred order

Give “Collect the parcel”, “Drop off the repair”, and “Buy the lamp” their places. Open Nearby, switch to Map, and select the Task markers in your intended visiting order. The numbered markers and selected stops show that order. Reorder the selected stops when you want to change the trip.

Mement calculates a driving preview from your selection. Open in Maps sends the ordered destinations to Apple Maps for navigation. If the preview is unavailable, you can still try Open in Maps with at least one selected stop; a failed handoff keeps the planning selection.

After a successful handoff, the trip becomes active and can be reopened. Completing “Collect the parcel” removes that stop while retaining the rest of the route. Arriving at the place or opening Maps does not itself complete the Task.

Understand the list radius and the map

Nearby’s List starts with active located Tasks in the current Space or full workspace. When distances are available, nearer Tasks appear first. The optional Radius setting narrows the List and its Home count; a Task whose distance is not yet known remains visible.

Map keeps the active located Tasks from that same context even when the List radius is enabled. This lets you plan a farther stop without changing the nearby-list setting. The radius you use for a saved record’s reminder and the List’s distance filter serve different purposes.

Choose the right kind of location alert

A location reminder configured in a record belongs to that record. Separately, after an active route is successfully handed to Apple Maps, Mement can schedule one-time arrival alerts for eligible stops. Those route alerts require notification and location permission and support for monitored regions.

Arrival alerts share the system’s region capacity with other location features. iPhone and iPad support them where location triggers are available; Mac Catalyst and visionOS do not schedule these route alerts. The active route also has a limited lifetime of up to 24 hours. Apple Maps owns live guidance while Mement manages the Task and route state.

Use Mement with CarPlay

Prepare voice before driving

CarPlay uses a connected supported iPhone with iOS 26.4 or later. The preparation screen brings the voice requirements together so you can resolve them before setting off. Opening it does not record speech. Microphone and Speech access are requested when you use the enable action.

If Voice requests is unavailable, expand Details and read the reason. A missing permission, unsupported recognition language, unavailable local speech resources, and a missing language model need different checks. Recognition and spoken replies need their own local resources. When search works without the language model, Ask Mement can still give a summary of matching local records.

Prepare the phone while parked. During the drive, use the vehicle’s supported controls; leave permission changes and resource preparation until you can stop safely.

Build a useful sequence of stops

Suppose you need to collect a parcel, return a library book, and buy supplies. Save each action as a Task with its actual place. Nearby can show the relevant located Tasks from your current context. Tasks with the same coordinates can appear together as one place.

Add the places you want to visit to Trip and inspect the order. Use the available stop actions or supported voice commands to move a stop earlier or later, remove it, or end the Trip. The chosen order is retained; it is not automatically optimized for the shortest journey.

The Trip belongs to your Mement plans and can be resumed after returning to the car experience. Changing the active Space or privacy of a Task can change which places are available, so check the remaining stops before opening Maps.

Ask about information you have already saved

Ask Mement retrieves relevant local Mement records and provides a short answer. Use it when you need existing plan information without browsing a long list. The answer depends on matching records and your permitted context; if information cannot be found or identified, refine the question rather than treating an uncertain answer as a saved change.

You can manage the Trip through its supported commands. Creating or completing Tasks by voice is not part of the current CarPlay actions. Record new work or mark it done in Mement when you are safely stopped. Arriving at a place also leaves its Task for you to complete.

Continue the journey in Apple Maps

Open in Maps sends the selected stops in their chosen order. Earlier stops are waypoints and the last is the destination. Apple Maps then provides its navigation interface, guidance, and rerouting. Check the route there and start guidance as appropriate.

If Maps cannot open, the saved Trip remains available for another attempt. Ending a Trip changes your trip plan, while the underlying Tasks keep their own completion state. This is useful when you postpone one stop: leave the Task active and return to it in a later plan.
