Try it in Mement
- Record audio or import a supported recording from Add Audio.
- Review the local transcript and the proposed Tasks, Lists, Projects or Areas.
- Edit or discard candidates, choose their destination and explicitly create the records you want.
Speaking is capture, not consent to save everything
The pipeline transcribes on the device, extracts candidates, applies deterministic cleanup and offers review before creation. Recognition and generation depend on supported Apple frameworks, device, language, model availability and settings. A transcript or proposal can be wrong; verify names, dates and commitments against the recording.
Choose a source and keep unfinished processing recoverable
The Quick Create menu has one Audio action. Add Audio then offers recording, Files import or guidance for importing an Apple call recording from Notes. Sharing audio from another app creates a local Pending Audio job; multiple files remain separate jobs. Opening the source chooser does not start the microphone. Recording permission is requested when recording begins, and denying it leaves import available.
Pending Audio keeps processing stages visible. You can leave a job for later, retry a failure or return after an interruption. Background continuation depends on the system and checkpoints, not a promise that every recording finishes while the app is closed. Language support and any needed assets are checked at runtime; unavailable Apple processing has no silent cloud fallback.
Review the evidence and the destination
Proposals link to timestamped transcript segments so you can listen to their source. Correct the transcript, reject a quoted idea that is not your commitment, edit candidate details or change the entity type. Compare a possible duplicate with existing work before keeping it. Choose existing or proposed parents, then approve the selected hierarchy for creation together. Created records use ordinary Mement editing, reminders and synchronization; a candidate is not an assigned or completed Task merely because it appeared in speech.
Decide what happens to the recording
Raw audio, transcript and temporary proposals stay on the processing device. Review source-retention choices separately from the approved records: deleting source audio can retain created entities. Exporting the original audio or transcript is an explicit sharing decision. Pending-job rename, retry, export and deletion do not turn the job into a cross-device meeting archive. The App Intents enqueue supported audio and open pending work; they do not bypass review, microphone disclosure or runtime requirements.
Import call recordings with care
Mement does not initiate calls, provide VoIP or record phone or FaceTime calls itself. The call guide imports a recording made with Apple’s system controls. Optional call reminders are off by default, and call-observation reminders are best-effort. Obtain appropriate consent before recording other people.
A plan to adapt
Fictional example. Copying or downloading this text does not create records in Mement.
