An umbrella at 07:45 if rain is forecast
This option keeps your chosen time. The weather decides whether a reminder is needed that morning.
- Create a task called "Take an umbrella" and open the date and time section.
- Turn on "Time" and choose 07:45. For workday mornings, set weekdays in the usual "Repeat" row.
- Tap "Add weather condition". Choose "Rain probability" and a value of at least 60%.
- Set the next three hours and choose "At any time".
- Choose "My current location" or a saved place for the forecast. Check the summary and save the task.
If the forecast does not match the condition, the 07:45 reminder is skipped. The task is not completed automatically or moved to the next rainy hour.
Laundry an hour before forecast rain
Here, the start of a matching forecast event determines the time. Set up the reminder for the place where your laundry is drying.
- Create a task called "Bring in the laundry from the balcony" and add your home location.
- In the "Time" row, tap the clock icon on the left. The row changes to "Weather". Turn on the switch on the right.
- Choose the saved forecast location and set a rain probability of at least 60%.
- In "Notify before", choose one hour. For a single occasion, leave the reminder as one-time; use the main "Repeat" row for recurrence.
- Save the task. If rain is forecast for 17:00, Mement schedules the reminder for 16:00.
If the forecast changes, Mement may change or cancel the scheduled notification after refreshing the data. If an event has already started before it is detected, a new reminder about its start is not sent retroactively.
Multiple conditions and the forecast window
For a run, add temperature, rain probability and wind. Choose "All conditions" if they must match together. For patio cushions, choose "Any condition": rain or strong gusts are enough.
In a weather condition, "At any time" means a matching interval within the window is enough. "Throughout" requires a match across the entire selected window. For washing a car, this might be three hours with a low chance of rain.
"Rest of today" and "Tonight" use the forecast location's time zone. "Tonight" checks the current or next 18:00…06:00 period, starting no earlier than the reminder time. The rain rule uses a forecast, and a low probability does not guarantee dry weather.
Saved places, current location and arrival
Choose a saved place for your home, country house or park. For a task that depends on where you are, use your current location and grant access when the app asks. Choosing a forecast location does not itself enable an arrival reminder.
If arrival is enabled for the saved place, add and edit its weather condition in the location section. This condition does not need a separate time. Arrival always checks the forecast for the saved destination.
If both time and arrival are enabled, Mement checks each reminder separately. You may receive both notifications. After switching from arrival to leaving, the weather condition no longer applies to arrival. With time enabled, the condition stays active in the schedule; without time, it pauses. This does not enable weather conditions for leaving reminders.
Repeats and privacy
The main "Repeat" row sets the item's recurrence. The follow-up reminder button among the round options sets the interval until the next notification and does not replace that schedule.
Weather reminders support the existing privacy options. "Private" hides details in the notification; biometric locking protects access to the item. Paid-option availability and system confirmation still apply.
The forecast comes from Apple WeatherKit. Task titles, notes, tags and weather-rule text are not sent to the forecast provider. A request needs the location and forecast period. The current location and working forecast cache stay local.
If a notification does not arrive
Check whether the rule is enabled, the time has arrived and the forecast matches. Review the location, repeats and notification access. Arrival requires the appropriate location access.
Missing or unusable weather data is not treated as a match. Mement cannot guarantee a background check every minute. An already scheduled local notification does not itself download a fresh forecast when it appears.
Frequently asked questions
Will my task move if the weather does not match?
A weather condition skips that reminder. It does not complete the task, change its recurrence or move the notification to another hour.
Can I get a reminder before rain without a fixed time?
Yes. Switch the icon in the "Time" row to "Weather", enable the rule and set the lead time. The time is chosen from the forecast for a matching event.
Does a forecast at home need access to my current location?
A forecast for a saved place does not need your current position. If you also enable arrival, separate location access is needed to detect that entry.
Can I receive two notifications, one for time and one for arrival?
Yes. Time reminders and arrival reminders are checked independently. The weather condition can match both, and showing one notification does not itself cancel the other.
Do weather reminders sync between devices?
Settings can sync with the item. The forecast, current location and attempt history stay on each device. Two devices may show notifications. Update Mement on every device where you edit these items.
What happens after I snooze a notification?
Snoozing preserves your explicit request to be reminded again. It does not mean the forecast was checked again. Automatic follow-up reminders remain subject to the weather rule.
