Try it in Mement
- Open the editor for a new Task, List, Project, or Area and enter its title.
- Include a date or time, a #tag, or a priority marker if those details are useful.
- Review the suggestions below the title. Apply one suggestion or choose Apply all.
- Check the resulting title and fields, choose any needed parent or Space, and save.
- If AI proposes several Tasks, review their individual names and details before confirming the split.
See how one line becomes several fields
For an English-language example, enter “Send the quote tomorrow 10pm #work !high” in a Task title. The supported date and time phrase, work tag, and high-priority marker can appear as suggestions. After applying them, “Send the quote” remains the action name while the recognized information fills the relevant controls.
You can apply only the details you want. Check the actual date and time shown in the editor before saving, especially with relative wording such as tomorrow. You can also set every field directly without putting markers in the title.
Title recognition is available in Task, List, Project, and Area editors for the fields those records support. Tag markers accept Unicode letters and numbers, underscores, and hyphens. Unrecognized text stays in the title so you can edit it yourself.
Use additional AI suggestions when available
On a compatible device, Apple Intelligence can help interpret less explicit wording when ordinary title recognition finds no supported markers. It can suggest dates, priorities, or a split when one title contains several distinct actions. Availability depends on the device, system, language, and AI settings.
For example, a sentence containing several separate errands may produce a proposed Task split. Open the review, adjust each action, and confirm the Tasks you want. A suggestion is an opportunity to edit the result before saving.
You can control AI Task Parsing in Settings → General → AI Settings. The standard on-device title parser remains available when that AI option is disabled. AI assistance adds another input path; the normal editor remains available throughout.
Choose the record you actually need
Use a Task for one action, a List for related Tasks, a Project for a result with several steps, or an Area for an ongoing responsibility. The title helps capture details; it does not decide your entire structure for you. Parent and Space can be selected in the editor when you want that context.
Habit creation has its own suggestions for supported Habit details, such as a start date, icon, or rhythm. A Habit uses its tracking goal and schedule instead of Task priorities and tags. Apply a proposed rhythm when it matches the Habit you want to create.
If you prefer speaking, use the system keyboard’s dictation in the title field. Review recognized names, dates, and other details just as you would after typing.
Tasks, Lists, Projects, Areas and Habits support files, photos and links. In item editors, Attach becomes Attached with previews; removal sits beside each row. Location is below the materials, with a small map and an optional full-screen view. Open materials from the editor or the record’s details. In “Attach”, tap “Arrive” or “Leave” in the location reminder title to choose when to be notified. “Arrive” is selected by default. Save keeps that choice; notification and location permissions still apply.
Before you finish
- The final title still names the intended action or result.
- Recognized dates, times, tags, and priorities match your intent.
- Any proposed Task split has been reviewed before confirmation.
