Try it in Mement

  1. Open a Task, List, Project, or Area editor and expand Date & Time.
  2. Choose a date, a time, or both. For a plan tied to a particular day, select that day first.
  3. Add the reminder times you need and check the schedule summary.
  4. If the commitment repeats, set its recurrence. Privacy and time-sensitive delivery are additional options when relevant.
  5. Save, then reopen the record if you want to check the final schedule.

Choose the level of timing you need

“Compare lamps” might belong to next Monday without needing an exact hour. “Call the repair service” may need Monday at 10:00. Date-only, time-only, and date-plus-time schedules are supported for Tasks, Lists, Projects, and Areas; choose the information that matches the commitment.

Dates and times are independent of priority and GTD status. Selecting Scheduled in GTD does not fill the date for you. A date on a Project also does not mean that every Task inside it has received its own reminder.

Habits have their own reminder times, start date, schedule, and goal settings. Use the Habit editor when the reminder belongs to a tracked behavior rather than assuming a container’s schedule will configure the Habit.

Give one commitment more than one useful reminder

For “Submit the application”, select the intended day and turn on Time. Open the time controls, set 09:00, then choose Add time and set 15:00. You have one Task with two reminder times. Tasks, Lists, Projects, and Areas support up to five times per record.

Change each time in its picker. When several times are present, use the remove control beside a time to delete it. To remove time-based reminders altogether, turn off Time; keep the date if the work still belongs to that day. Check the schedule summary before saving.

You can also apply date and time suggestions from a title, then adjust the resulting fields. Reopen the editor to inspect the saved values. When the work is finished, complete the Task. Create another Task if the later time represents a different action.

Habits also support up to five reminder times, configured in their own editor. These are reminders to return to the same Habit; they do not create separate Habits or record progress. The Habit setup guide explains how to combine them with a schedule and goal.

Choose repeated alerts for the current commitment

Without a date or time, ordinary editors show “Biometric Lock” as a row. Adding a schedule turns its icon into a circle beside the notification options. Habit editors show all four circles in “Schedule” immediately, including without a custom time. Swipe horizontally across the circles to enable the options you touch; vertical scrolling leaves them unchanged. Hold for help. Tap “Repeat” to choose an interval or turn follow-up off. Lock · Time Sensitive · Private · Repeat. 15 minutes · 30 minutes · 1 hour · 2 hours · 4 hours.

For example, “Submit the application” can have one scheduled reminder and follow-up alerts every 30 minutes. Completing or rescheduling the work stops that follow-up pattern. To plan a new occurrence every month, set the record’s recurrence instead. Repeat reminder controls alerts about the current work; recurrence controls its repeating schedule.

Decide whether a reminder should be time-sensitive

Time-sensitive notification is an additional Pro option on iPhone, iPad, and Mac Catalyst. If you selected a date without a time, enabling this option adds a suggested reminder time. Check and change that time before saving so the alert matches your plan.

The option can allow delivery during a system Focus when your system settings permit time-sensitive notifications. Silent mode still applies. It is separate from Apple Critical Alerts. The native visionOS and Apple TV editors do not offer this delivery option.

If a reminder fails to arrive, inspect the saved schedule, Mement’s notification permission, the current system Focus, and its time-sensitive settings. The troubleshooting guide walks through those checks in order.

Choose what an alert reveals

Security notification hides details in alert previews. Ordinary editors show it after a date or time is set; Habit editors always show it in “Schedule”. “Biometric Lock” protects opening the record and is available without a schedule. Notifications still require a configured time or an enabled location reminder.

Removing date and time from an ordinary record hides notification options while retaining their settings. Habits keep all four circles visible in “Schedule”, with preferences independent of custom times and location. Review the settings before saving.

Respond when the notification arrives

Depending on its category, a delivered notification can offer completion or a later reminder, such as in an hour, in the morning, or tomorrow. Snooze changes the reminder without opening the details or marking the Task done. Tapping the later notification opens the record.

If the calendar action is enabled and calendar access is available, a currently running, named, non-all-day event can also offer a reminder after it ends. Mement uses that event’s end as context for the delay; this does not export the Task as a Calendar event.

Add a weather condition to a reminder

For an umbrella, you can keep your usual 07:45 time and add a rain forecast condition. The time stays the same: if the forecast does not match, the notification is skipped. To let the forecast determine the time, switch the clock icon to "Weather" and set a lead time.

How to set up a weather reminder

Before you finish

  • The saved day and time describe the commitment you intended.
  • Additional reminder times belong to the same action.
  • Notification permission, preview privacy, and any time-sensitive setting match your needs.
