Try it in Mement
- Choose New List and enter a useful title or notes. The AI generation action appears when the List has context.
- Optionally add guidance about the outcome, people involved, constraints or what is already arranged, then choose the generation action in the navigation bar.
- If Mement asks for missing information, answer in the same guidance field and generate again. When the result opens, review its List details and Tasks.
- Edit, remove, add or reorder Tasks, refine the result if needed, then apply it to the List editor. Check the remaining settings and Save.
Give the generator a usable starting point
A title such as “Prepare for a two-day work trip with hand luggage” says more than “Trip”. In notes or optional guidance, add facts that change the preparation: travelling alone, staying overnight, tickets already booked, or needing material for a meeting. You do not need to repeat the whole description in a separate prompt.
The result could include actions such as checking travel documents, packing overnight essentials and preparing meeting material. These are illustrative possibilities, not a fixed template or a promise of particular output. Your context determines which actions belong in the List.
Mement can generate both List details and its Tasks. Existing title, notes and settings guide the result. Generation begins when you request it through the navigation action; you can keep creating the List manually. Clarification questions appear when more information is needed, rather than as a required setup every time.
Turn the generated content into your List
Read the proposed List title and notes, then inspect the Tasks. Delete actions you have already completed or do not need, rename vague actions, add missing work and change the order. You can also enter refinement guidance. Optional follow-up questions can improve an already visible result without stopping manual edits or applying it.
Check more than Task titles. Generated content can include notes, icons and colors, tags, priority, date and time, recurrence, a place name and supported privacy settings. Review suggestions before applying them, especially dates and sensitive details. Your selected parent and Space remain authoritative; model suggestions do not silently move the List elsewhere.
After applying, the normal List editor is the place to inspect the final settings and save. A suggested place name does not configure map coordinates, a location-reminder radius or its trigger; set those through the normal location controls if needed.
Opening an individual generated Task in its standard editor gives access to richer settings. Saving there can save that Task before the surrounding List is saved. Keep this in mind if you later cancel the List flow. Simply requesting generation does not save the generated List.
Fill an empty List and check availability
An existing empty List can generate its initial Tasks without creating a second List. Open the empty List and use its generation action, provide the intended outcome and review the resulting Tasks. The existing List remains the destination.
Shortcuts and Siri offer generated-List actions as well. The default opens Mement for review. A creation action can generate and save a List with its Tasks without opening that review only when you explicitly turn review off. Inspect the action’s settings before using it in an automation.
List generation requires Pro and a device, system and language where the on-device Apple Intelligence model is available, with the relevant AI setting enabled. The feature uses the List context you provided and relevant parent or Space context on the device, without sending it to a third-party language-model service.
If generation is unavailable or interrupted, keep the fields you already entered and continue manually or check the AI requirements and troubleshooting guide. Search and Ask Mement remain ways to retrieve existing plans; List generation is the feature for creating new content from your description.
Before you finish
- Include the constraint that most changes the plan, such as available time or what is already arranged.
- Remove irrelevant actions and verify dates, places and privacy suggestions.
- After applying, save the List and check that the intended Tasks appear in it.
