Choose a calendar and understand date boundaries Use the Solar or Lunar date selector and know how Habit periods behave when dates or time zones change. Try it in Mement 1. For a Task, List, Project or Area, expand Date & Time. For a Habit, open “Schedule”. Find the sun or moon calendar control. 2. Choose Solar for Gregorian dates or Lunar for Hebrew dates before selecting the intended day. 3. Check the selected date, reminder times, and recurrence summary, then save. 4. For a Habit, choose its start date, goal period, and schedule as separate settings. 5. After travelling, inspect important timed commitments in their saved editor before making broad changes. Select the calendar that gives the date its meaning The sun and moon control switches the calendar: Solar uses the Gregorian calendar; Lunar uses the Hebrew calendar. Find it beside Date in ordinary editors or in “Schedule” for a Habit. Select the calendar before choosing a date or a rule tied to its months or years. This choice is available for the supported scheduling fields of Tasks, Lists, Projects, Areas, and Habits. It does not mean every other screen uses the same month boundaries. Read the editor’s selected date and summary when switching modes or applying a date suggestion from a title. Know which entries count toward a Habit goal A Habit keeps the time zone in which it was created for the boundaries of its daily, calendar-week, and calendar-month goal periods. An entry at the start of the next period counts toward that next period. The schedule controls when the Habit is actionable; the goal period controls which entries are added together. For example, if you start a monthly reading Habit partway through the month with a goal of 100 pages, its first period begins on that start date and ends at the calendar boundary. The goal remains 100 pages; it is not automatically reduced to match the shorter first period. Choose a starting goal you intend to meet. For practice on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, choose those weekdays in a custom weekly schedule. For 100 pages across a whole week, choose a weekly Quantity goal and a schedule that suits when you read. Selecting a numeric goal period does not replace the current recurrence rule. Check-in goals use a daily period. Review timed plans after a change of time zone Different kinds of saved timing need separate attention: an exact appointment, an undated time, an imported Apple Reminder, a recurrence rule, and a Habit’s period are not interchangeable settings. Begin with the commitments whose actual hour matters. Open the record and read its current day and time, calendar mode, recurrence, and reminders. Check the device’s time zone as well. If the Task is mapped to Apple Reminders, compare that reminder before changing either side. This gives you a specific mismatch to correct instead of shifting every record at once. Make the intended appointment explicit Suppose you saved “Call the repair service” for Monday at 10:00 before a trip. After arriving, decide whether you mean the original appointment’s moment or 10:00 in the place you are now. Inspect the saved record and adjust it if the shown schedule does not express that agreement. For a general plan such as “Compare lamps”, a date without an exact time may be sufficient. For a Habit, remember its saved time-zone boundary when reading progress around midnight. These checks address the particular plan without assuming one universal travel rule for all records.
